Tea for two, or one, or many

For me, a good cup of strong, sweet tea is an almost absolute pleasure!! It begins with going to the tea store, a small shop where they sell loose-leaf tea; a cozy place, permeated with the perfume of the different varieties of tea available for the lovers of this delicious leaf!!  I find it amazing to discover the number of different types that exist!! You can find black, green and white tea, fruited and spiced, whatever your taste may be. And, evidently, you cannot go shopping for tea if you’re in a hurry. This is an experience that must be enjoyed. We can ask the shopkeeper to let us smell the different types of tea to see if we venture towards a different kind… I have three favorites: English Breakfast, Irish Breakfast and Earl Grey. But I usually buy a few grams of a new kind to see if I may be pleasantly surprised!!

At home, we put the kettle on, measure the tea for the teapot and enjoy the perfume while we let it infuse for a few minutes. Whenever possible, tea should be served in a pretty cup. That is an important part of drinking it. Tea served in a disposable cup just doesn’t taste the same to me.

In the early morning it wakes me up; when I return from my walk it invigorates me; when I’m happy, it accompanies me; when I’m sad, it comforts me; while I work or write, it motivates me (right now I’m enjoying a delicious cup of Irish Breakfast). To sum it up, and as you have probably been able to tell, I adore tea!! I recommend you try it…

  1. Love your blog!

Have you tried Rooibos, Afrikaans for Red Bush? I’m drinking a cup of it right now (in a disposable cup)…
