I woke up this morning thinking of a cherished friend who left us eight years ago, but who has always remained, not only in my thoughts, but I’m sure in the thoughts of everyone who ever knew him.
Every once in a lifetime, if we happen to be very lucky, our lives are touched by people like him. He was a more than generous friend and a dedicated teacher – always ready to encourage those around him, gladly giving his friends his time and attention whenever needed – with an impressive knowledge of art and many other subjects which he was more than happy to share with everyone – he was a Renaissance man of today, given that his interests beyond art, were many and varied. He was truly interested in the world around us.
I will always be grateful for his constant encouragement and his admiration for my work, which helped me focus on my need to express myself through my painting. He was the force that led me to begin – and much later to continue – what has become my raison d’être, my painting.
Thank you, my dear, dear friend!
