Today I would like to speak about my friends and what they mean to me.
Due to various circumstances, my childhood and teenage friends, who later on in life became remarkable, courageous and amazing women, are all living very dissimilar lives in different parts of the world, quite far from me. However, in spite of the years that have gone by since I last saw them, they are always in my heart and mind. Needless to say, I have made wonderful and very dear new friends throughout the years; friends with whom I have shared laughter, projects and excitements, but the feeling of a friendship that was forged during our early years is something very special and it’s quite difficult to recapture.
However, some friendships that are born later on in life allow us to form an even greater and more special bond because they rise from the very similarity of the minds and souls. These are people who touch our lives in a very special way and who become, even when they are no longer physically part of our lives, participants in chimerical conversations during which we measure our projects against their imagined opinion, believing we’ll be able to eternally share ideas.
The sum of all the experiences we have lived over the years is what makes us who we are today. Fortunately, I have many people to thank for giving me the opportunity of sharing amazing experiences with them and for allowing me to be a part of their lives. And I’m sure there are many other wonderful people I will meet in the years to come…
