If you’re sixty or older and you’re reading this, congratulations!!! I believe we have reached a pretty good place in life. We can look back, hopefully without regret, on what we’ve accomplished; and we still have enough time to look forward to begin and/or finish all those projects that we may have put aside because we had other responsibilities to fulfill. Furthermore, if you’re reading this, you can be very thankful: you can read, your eyes are working properly and you can use a computer. Being thankful and in love with life will keep you young, I believe.
If you have children, they are probably grown up by now and responsible for their own lives, which doesn’t mean that they will ever stop being our children, as far as we’re concerned… and although we will always care, worry and rejoice with and about them, they are now adults, and we should react accordingly. And perhaps you may have been blessed with grandchildren (one of life’s greatest gifts!!!) and if you’re lucky enough to have them near, you will be able to enjoy the wonder of discovering life through their eyes. Now we have more time and patience to listen and to tell stories.
At this point of our lives, we have all probably faced difficult times – some more so than others – but we have made it through and have come out the other side and ready to continue living. And so, we embark on the last part of our journey on this earth, our golden years, and we should make the most of it!!
If you’re not sixty and you’re reading this, welcome!!! You can take a peek at what’s coming. I hope that you will find that the future (and not being young anymore) is something you can look forward to.
